A prime opportunity for an easy Ayurvedic shift!

The weather is starting to shift into fall mode - my favorite! And also my favorite is the unique opportunity this presents — to make an Ayurvedic shift that I recommend to nearly ALL of my clients. It’s not an easy one for most people (although to some it’s a breeze)….

Stop putting ice in your water.

Yep, it’s that simple.

Ice water dampens your digestive fire and makes your system work harder to maintain its internal temperature. Instead, drink room-temperature water, or even better — warm water. (I know, for my ice-loving folks, warm water is a big ask — so we start small.)

Baby steps:

  1. First, just stop adding ice to your drinks.

  2. After a week, stick to room-temp water.

  3. Another week in, try slightly warm — eventually, even straight-up warm.

You wouldn’t think it, but this little change makes a GINORMOUS difference. Why? Because your body is meant to be warm. Your digestive fire — Agni — is a vital, lovely force, and when we douse it with ice, it starts to wane. The effects can ripple out in so many ways — you feel lower on energy, are more prone to seasonal sniffles, and your glow dims. Ew.

So with this one shift, you could make a huge difference in how you feel!

And now that the weather is a bit cooler, it’s prime time to make it happen.

Give it a go, and let me know.

p.s. A little extra tip — if the whole idea of room temp or warm water feels like too much at first, start with mild, caffeine-free tea. It’s a pre-baby step that moves you in the right direction!
